Precinct Organizers actively work with the people in their district and talk with Republicans and unaffiliated voters. Known in the political world as “canvassing,” it really is just chatting with your neighbors about the issues important to them and presenting the Republican viewpoint about those issues. 

 There’s that “canvassing” term again. Precinct Organizers work with their team to systematically communicate with the registered voters in their neighborhood to determine the issues important to them and actively promote Republican policies, ideas, and candidates.

A focus for the Las Animas County GOP is voter registration efforts. Precinct Organizers work with their Central Committee to organize voter registration events.

Our eye is constantly on training the next generation of party leaders and elected representatives. Precinct Organizers work with their Central Committee to identify new people who want to be involved in the important work of electing Republicans and keeping Las Animas County and all of Colorado free! 

The Precinct Organizer is the most essential position in our county party.  They help us win elections and turn the current political tide and atmosphere.

Professionals in politics agree on at least one point:  elections can be won or lost in the voting precincts at the grassroots level.  The Precinct Organizer represents the smallest unit of the organization.  The Precinct's Organizer profoundly affects the overall strength, influence, and success of the County Party.

We also have regular training for Precinct Organizers, so you'll know how to be the most effective.  We also have area leaders here to help you every step of the way.

QUALIFICATIONS

Precinct Organizers must be residents of their voting precinct, be registered REPUBLICAN voters, and not be candidates for nomination or election to, or be the holder of, an elected office of the federal, state, or county government.  They are chosen by the Precinct's Republican Primary voters at the biennial General Primary election.  Together with the COUNTY CHAIR, who is chosen by the County Republican Primary voters at the biennial General Primary election, the Precinct Chairs constitute the Republican Central Executive Committee.  The Term of office for both Party positions is two years.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Recruit Precinct volunteer workers.
2. Maintain a list of volunteer workers with contact information and areas of expertise.
3. Gathers information, ideas, and fundamental feedback from the Party's constituents for feedback to the County Central Committee on issues, concerns, or ideas in the party's population.
4. Work with the Party's leadership and Organization Committee to train volunteer workers to implement the Party's Precinct programs and campaign activities.
5. Keep precinct records.
6. Attend meetings of the County Executive Committee.
7. Serve as Election Judge or alternate Election Judge for Elections.
8. Coordinate and Supervise precinct volunteer workers during the General election campaign.
9. Participate in the Party's General Election GET_OUT_THE_VOTE (GOTV) program that includes voter registration drives, precinct walks, yard sign distribution, and COUNTY PARTY fundraising efforts.
10. Supports the General election Republican ticket.
11. Other duties as they may be reasonably assigned by the County Republican Executive team, as required.
